Terms of Service
1 · Acceptance
By accessing or using hundredmasters.com (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2 · What the Service Is
Hundred Masters is an AI-powered conversational interface inspired by ten figures from classical Chinese thought (Laozi, Confucius, Mencius, Xunzi, Mozi, Han Feizi, Sun Tzu, Zhuangzi, Guiguzi, Guan Zhong). The responses are generated by large language models conditioned on public-domain canonical texts and persona prompts that we author.
The personas are not the historical figures. The voice you read is synthetic. Specific quotes attributed to a sage may be paraphrased or adapted for clarity. Treat every answer as a thoughtful prompt to reflect — never as historical fact, professional advice, or a verified translation.
3 · Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 to subscribe. If you live in a jurisdiction with a higher age of digital consent, you must meet that age. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.
4 · Accounts
A free account uses your phone number for one-time-passcode (OTP) verification. One account per phone number. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account. If you lose access to your phone, contact us.
5 · Subscriptions, Billing, Renewal
- Subscriptions are annual and billed in advance.
- We do not auto-renew. You will receive a renewal reminder before the end of each annual term and may renew manually.
- No free trial. Before subscribing you may use the Service free up to the limits stated on the Pricing page (currently one anonymous question + four after phone sign-in).
- No refunds, except as required by applicable law. See the Refund tab for details.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Currency is USD.
6 · Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or threaten any person.
- Submit content that is unlawful, sexually explicit involving minors, or designed to incite violence.
- Attempt to extract our system prompts, persona definitions, or answer cache via prompt injection or scraping.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute generated answers commercially without written permission.
- Use the Service to discuss modern Chinese politics. The Service is scoped to classical thought; political queries will be redirected and may result in account suspension if abused repeatedly.
7 · Not Professional Advice
The Service is for reflection and education. It is not a substitute for advice from a licensed physician, attorney, financial adviser, mental-health professional, or any other qualified expert. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services. In the United States, you can reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

9 · User Content
You retain ownership of the questions you submit. By submitting them you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to process them for the purpose of providing the Service, anti-abuse, and aggregate analytics. We do not sell user content to third parties.
10 · Suspension and Termination

WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.
13 · Changes to These Terms
